How it all began

How it all began...I remember the moment vividly. I was sitting in my small granny's kitchen in Fenit, a small coastal village eight miles from Tralee, Co. Kerry. The wind was howling outside and the rain spitting on the window. I asked Granny to tell me a story. She told me then how she had gone to America as a young girl. I looked at my Granny, my small granny who was barely five foot tall, and suddenly she wasn't just my small granny anymore. She was this amazing courageous woman who had travelled half way across the world before she became a wife and  mother and settled in the village. I knew even then that I would have to know more.
