John O'Donohue's words 'a kindness of rhythm in your journey' meander in and out of my mind.
It strikes me how often we are unkind,
not to others but to our selves.
His words ask questions.
Is there a kind rhythm to my days?
Or is it a constant round of 'Be perfect',
'Try hard'
'More, faster, bigger, better?"
Have I truly asked myself,
'How can I meet my responsibilities in a way that is kind to me?'
Maybe even in a way that is easier for me...
Are all of my responsibilities even neccessary?
Or are they burdens chosen by others,
which I have unconsciously acquired?
What happens if I look for the 'kindness of rhythm' in my days?
Is there a very little kindness or a lot?
What happens for you when you look for the 'kindness of rhythm' your life?
If being kind to yourself is not easy then try the Happy Book for some help.
