Wilson Stevens and Henry Barritt on the 20th of June 1868 gave witness in Davies County Court, that Ann Rowan, deceased, was the wife of George Rowan, deceased, of Company A 118th USCT and that there were 3 children of the marriage,
Martha E Rowan born May 15th 1858
Aaron S Rowan Nov. 12 1860
George A Rowan April 19 1864
George and Ann Rowan were married by Benjamin Newton on April 30th 1856.
Wilson Stevens & Henry Barritt lived in the same house, on the same plantation as George and Ann Rowan. I have been unable to identify the plantation at this time.
I found the index of the application of an H Holbrook, Guardian, filed Dec. 23rd 1870, Application number 192626, Certificate Number 260324 in respect of the minor child/ren of George Bell alias George Rowan of A Company 118 US Colored Infantry.
