Jarrett was a Blacksmith, aged 23-28 years (born c1820) and he was brought to jail in South Carolina, March 1849.
H R Span placed an advert in the Edgefield Advertiser, South Carolina asking for the slaveholder Benjamin Rice of Union County, South Carolina to come forward and collect him.
Benjamin Rice of Union County is recorded in the US Federal Census Slave Schedule 1850. 81 enslaved people are recorded on the Rice Plantation, Union County, South Carolina in 1850.
