In Nov. 1802 Joel Early placed an advertisement regarding a runaway slave named Jack of Greene County, Georgia born c1780. He was believed to be in Augusta, Georgia area with a woman enslaved by Major George Watkins who had 'hired her out' to Mr. Absalom Rhodes.
