Mary Brennan, Boyle, Co. Roscommon, Earl Grey Orphan

Mary Brennan was born c 1834 in Boyle, Co. Roscommon. The Boyle Workhouse was opened on Dec. 31st 1841. After spending some time in the Boyle Workhouse Mary set sail for Sydney, Australia in 1850 on the ship Tippoo Saib. She is recorded as being the daughter of John and Mary Brennan, deceased. Mary had no relatives in the Colony and could neither read nor write.

The following is research undertaken to connect Mary Brennan, Australia 1850 with her family in Boyle, Co. Roscommon. It is incomplete.

A search of familysearch.org for the time period 1820 to 1850 finds 6 couples by the name of John and Mary Brennan with some of their children. (The mothers' surnames are found in a variety of spelling combinations, for simplicity sake I have only listed one form)
