John was born in Clooncraff, Co. Roscommon, the son of Owen (Eugene) Brennan and Anne Hayden July 25, 1843. (acc. to his marriage registration)
John married Jane Miller, daughter of John Miller and Mary Daley, on Feb. 6, 1882 in Attleboro, Bristol County, Mass.

In 1900, acc. to the U.S. Federal Census John was a Shipping Clerk. He had arrived in the States in 1865 and was a naturalised citizen. Jane was also born in Ireland.
In 1910, John Brennan does not appear to be living with his wife Jane. Jane was living in 396 Division St., North Attleborough, Bristol County, Mass. with her children Stella, Boniface and Charlotte and is described as the Head of the household. Jane's children are all in the Jewelry Trade, Stella as a chain-maker, Boniface as a burnisher and Charlotte as a pressworker.
John died June 3, 1926.
Jane died Nov. 21, 1939.
They are both buried in Old St. Mary's Cemetary, North Attleboro.
