Brannan, Irishtown, South Carolina

Old maps of South Carolina show towns called Carroll, Kelly, Powers, Darraughs, Gaffney, Maybinton, Moore, Higgins, O'Neal, Sullivans, Maddens, McCarter, Rileys, Hibernia, Belfast & Coleraine. There was also a place named the Irish Settlement or Ireland at Fair Forest, near Cedar Springs SC.

I found a number of Brennans in Land Records;

Edward Brannan 1771 Buffalo Creek, Granville County
Thomas Brannan 1771 Cedar Creek, Craven County
Eugine Brannan 1772 Log Creek, Turkey Creek, Granville County
Robert Brannan 1773 Kings Creek, Craven County
Edward Brannan 1775 Belfast Township, Granville County
Thomas Brannan 1793 Buckhead Creek, Charleston District
John Brannan 1812 Petition for Payment for building of a Courthouse in Abbeville District

All these are indexed records. I would love to know more about these Brannan families. Does anyone have a place of origin in Ireland or are you a descendant who has taken a DNA test and would be willing to compare results on gedmatch.com
